The Pumpkin Cat

The daylight is getting shorter and the night’s cooler, and I think we will be welcoming an early fall here in Baltimore.  I am taking these last precious days of summer to finish up some small projects of my own which I started last year.  The Pumpkin Cat in the photo is one of them.  This is a pattern by Helene Knott from her “The Garden Patch Cats” series and it will make a cute decoration for the fall.  I have also managed to finish two very large personal quilts this summer and will write more about those soon.  And, I have quilted many customer quilts this summer.  Right now I am working on a beautiful applique quilt for a very talented local quilter and I promise to post photos soon.  I am also making  Edyta Sitar’s “Tree of Life”  quilt which I will be teaching at Bear’s Paw Fabrics in early October.  Bear’s Paw is hosting a half square triangle exchange right now, which is lots of fun and would work well with any of the projects in Edyta’s book called Friendship Triangles.  For just a little bit of work, you will end up with a complete array of 2″ half square triangles.

Visit http://www.bearspawfabrics.com to learn more about this fun exchange.  I understand it is open to anyone…even by mail…and you don’t have to sign up for the class to participate.  The summer I have also continued my work with the wonderful staff of Statler Stitcher and with the Beta Testing Team of Creative Studio.   I am  looking forward to teaching at The Virginia Longarm Network’s “Birds of a Feather”,  The Mid-Atlantic Longarm Quilting Extravaganza held in Lancaster, Pennsylvania  in February, 2013.

Remember, Fall is for Finishing to free up those creative inspirations for your next quilting project!
